Elkhorn

Elkhorn

The Village of Elkhorn, Manitoba is a wonderful community for all ages, providing a small-town experience within minutes of the larger communities. Located 27km west of Virden along the Trans Canada Highway, Elkhorn is home to the Manitoba Antique Automobile Museum where you can witness the evolution of transportation firsthand. Take a stroll through the streets to view the vibrant community murals that tell the story of the town’s rich heritage and community spirit.

Kenton

Kenton

Located in the Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth northeast of Virden, the friendly community of Kenton, Manitoba takes great pride in its warmth and character. Kenton has an estimated population of 180 people, but has many services for a community of its size. Nearby Kenworth Dam has been developed for camping, swimming, fishing, and other recreational opportunities. Just a little bit off the beaten path of the Trans Canada Highway, Kenton is part of the Rolling River Route, designed to give travelers an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

About the Organization

The Prairie Gateway Tourism Board strives to stimulate and encourage the development of local tourism efforts within the Town of Virden and RM of Wallace-Woodworth. The Board is responsible for identifying strategic priorities and ensuring that there is an alignment between these and those of various other local partners and as well as our regional partners. The Board is to guide and advise Councils in the development and implementation of tourism
